Sasha is actually named Soshka and is a 13th century Russian soldier that was gifted into the Mongol army as tribute to the Khan when the Golden Horde approached his city-state. He still fights occasionally but has more and more adopted the life of a bureaucrat as he manages to keep finding himself placed in charge of things.
